British Petroleum sponsoring energy studies in Turkey

British Petroleum (BP) undertook the sponsorship of USAK Energy Research Center that will operate under USAK umbrella in 2011. In accordance with the partnership agreement signed between the Director of Turkey BP Can Suphi and USAK Director Özdem Sanberk, it was indicated that BP will provide every support for energy studies in USAK.

Participants to the meeting, when the Agreement was signed, were: the Director of Turkey BP Department of Communications and Foreign Relations, Assistant General Manger of the Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan Pipeline Company Hasan Alsancak, USAK Vice-Directors Prof. Dr. İhsan Bal and Mehmet Tiraş, USAK General Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Sedat Laçiner and USAK experts Ceren Mutuş and Hasan Selim Özertem.

USAK Energy Research Center, an interdisciplinary approach focusing on energy security field, forming a dynamic dialogue with USAK’s other centers, aims to contribute to the institutional studies in this field in Turkey. USAK Energy Research Center, will contribute as a platform that will bring together people who work in the field as well as to the literature on energy studies.
